$12 FOR 12
In Ghana, 80% of children suffer from some form of malnutrition. 3.5 million people rely on unsafe water for survival. These conditions leave many vulnerable to the spread of diseases which can eventually lead to death among children and their families.
We at Point Hope believe there is no singular or universal solution to this problem. It is achieved by treating each child, family and community as unique case, ensuring each person has access to basic human needs while providing the skills and education that will improve not only his or her life but that of generations to come.
Our integrated, holistic model has 12 foundational pillars that work together to restore hope, find purpose, and save lives. We begin by ensuring children and their families have access to basic human needs (water, food, shelter, etc.) and continue with the goal of developing self-sustaining individuals through education, trade development, and other key programs.
Your support is vital in maintaining and expanding our ongoing work in Ghana. In a country where nearly half the population live on less that $1.25 a day, your contribution of $12 a month will bring life to our many programs and saves the lives of thousands of children across the country.
EYES OF HOPE VISION CENTRE
When you donate to the Eyes of Hope Vision Centre, you’re giving more than just sight — you’re offering the gift of a clearer future.
Your support helps provide free eye screenings, prescription glasses, and access to eye care for people in Ghana who might otherwise go months or years without ever seeing clearly.
Thanks to a powerful partnership between Point Hope, Eyes of Faith Optical, OneSight Essil or Luxottica Foundation, and Ghana Health Services, the Vision Centre (opened in October 2023) has already served thousands of clients — and your generosity keeps that life-changing work going.
All your contributions directly support screenings and operations, making a real, visible difference in people’s lives.
TOTES OF HOPE
Totes of Hope for Teens, a compassionate initiative from Point Hope, provides teens, youth, and babies in foster care with the essential items they need and the thoughtful comfort items they deserve.
Each tote includes basic necessities, a few uplifting personal items, and a durable duffle bag designed to keep their belongings safe and secure.
By replacing black garbage bags with a sturdy, dignity-preserving bag, Point Hope helps ensure every child feels valued, supported, and seen as they navigate transitions from home to home.
HEALTH & WELLNESS CENTER
The Gomoa-East District is home to more than 100,000 people, including the small village of Apra in the Central Region of Ghana. Families here face daily challenges that many of us can hardly imagine.
They live without access to fresh, running water. There is no hospital or medical clinic for wound care or urgent needs, and no Nutrition Center to support the more than 50 percent of children suffering from malnourishment.
Even essential services such as basic immunizations and family planning education are out of reach because there is no community health center.
Point Hope is committed to changing this reality. We cannot do it alone. We need your help to build a healthier, safer, and more hopeful future for these families.
SAMMY'S PLACE: FOR CHRONICALLY ILL KIDS
Sammy Young D'zolali Rene, the son of Delilah, Point Hope's Founder, passed away from complications of Sickle Cell Anemia.
He was born in Ghana, left in the streets as a toddler because of his disease, and suffered through life at an orphanage where his illness was not properly treated.
When he came to live with his forever family in America, he promised to return and make a home for kids like him, so they would also have a place to belong. Point Hope wants to keep Sammy's promise.
