Brian Pickard
Brian Pickard, originally from Seattle, Washington, earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and administrative certification from Central Washington University, and is currently the Executive Director at South Kitsap School District (SKSD). Brian has worked in SKSD since 1988. Before he came to the district as an assistant principal at Orchard Heights, he spent a year in Seattle Public Schools and then seven in the Tahoma School District as an elementary teacher and high school football and basketball coach.
During his 23 years of service as the principal at South Colby, he was the longest-tenured principal in the district. Brian says his current job fits him perfectly. "That connection with schools, district departments, the community. Spending 30 years in the district and the community, I know a lot of people and have a lot of connections. I see our district really stepping up." He also has worked as a federal relations liaison for the Association of Washington Principals.
Brian’s wife, Molly, is also an educator; she is a Developmental Preschool Teacher, teaching the little ones with special needs. They have two grown children and make their home in the Seattle area. They enjoy the outdoors, Seahawk football and are ardent supporters of education.
