Point Hope

There is Still Help Needed in Haiti

I have been given an extraordinary opportunity I want to share with you. We all know that on January 12, 2010 an earthquake that measured 7.1 struck the country of Haiti collapsing roads, destroying buildings and hospitals and homes simply disintegrated. And thousands upon thousands of people lost their lives and loved ones. Even now with all the help that has arrived from around the planet, Haiti remains in shambles. There is more that needs to be done.

On March 27th and 28th I will be in Haiti, and for those brief 48 hours, I will lend my support to the troops on the ground and to all the doctors and nurses who have been working around the clock to help. These medical teams, troops and aid workers have been working tirelessly to help those in need and offer a place of comfort to those who have lost so much. And lastly I will be visiting orphanages, where perhaps the need for support and love are needed the most.

I’m also scheduled to take an aerial tour of Port-Au-Prince where I will see the progress that’s been made and tell you about it. I’m preparing emotionally for the reality of the devastation that I’m sure to see and for the people of Haiti who have been left to start again from nothing. This will be painful however I’m hoping to communicate the needs of those whose lives hang in the balance, especially the thousands of children left behind by parents who perished in the quake. And to make matters worse the rainy season is on the way which is going to add to the devastation.

I am asking for your blessings and your help. I know that many of you have already donated generously to the relief efforts and it’s appreciated. There is still more that can be done and more that still needs to be done. Hundreds of thousands of Haitians are in need of basic necessities, like food, clothing and shelter and if each of you reading this message donates a little bit, or a little bit more, we can make a huge difference. It doesn’t have to be big, even a buck, just a one dollar donation can and will help and I have made it easy to donate through my non-profit organization Point Hope.

Through Point Hope, you can easily donate. Through the end of this month all proceeds donated to Point Hope by making a drop in the bucket will be earmarked for Haiti.

Also to make every dollar count, through the end of this month, all donations will be matched up to $10,000 so everything you give will be doubled. These donations will be used for medical supplies, food, clothing and shelter for those in need and there are many, especially the children of Haiti.

God bless you!
Delilah
