Point Hope created this Privacy Statement to demonstrate respect for your privacy preferences and to disclose our information collection and sharing practices. Regardless of whether you provide us with your personal information via our website or in another manner (e.g. telephone, regular mail or face-to-face), we strive to honor your privacy preferences. Point Hope is committed to respecting a donor’s privacy. Once a donor chooses to provide us with personal information, this information will only be used to support the relationship with Point Hope.
THEÂ PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT:
Depending on the type of communication or transaction, the personal information we collect may include, but is not limited to, your name, postal address, zip code, telephone number, organization name, e-mail address, credit card, bank information or billing information. You will be asked to provide your personal information when making donations, making purchases at our on-line store.
WE DO NOT KNOWINGLY COLLECT INFORMATION FROM CHILDREN:
We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 18 or knowingly allow such persons to provide us with their personal information. If you are under 18, do not send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or e-mail address. In the event we learn that we collected personal information from anyone under the age of 18, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. POINT HOPE MAY SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION:
Personal information will be shared internally at Point Hope to complete your donations or purchasing transactions Point Hope keeps donor information on file in order to provide gift receipts for tax purposes and to tailor subsequent communications to the donor. Information is used to complete a transaction, communicate to the donor, and update the donor on child sponsorship and special events. All donor information is kept in a password protected database and is never shared with others. For electronic donations by credit card or bank account, all donor information is in a password protected system and stored in a secure location at our Silverdale office. Credit card and bank account information is used only for processing funds donated and is not retained for other purposes. We will never give or sell our mailing list or email list to others or interrupt a donor’s privacy with fundraising phone calls.
If donors prefer not to receive mailings or email from Point Hope, they can notify us by mail, email, or phone and they will be removed from our mailing list.
WEBSITE LINKS:
In order to provide certain services and goods at our website, we contract with other companies and individuals. These additional services and goods may include “links” to other websites from our website. Point Hope privacy practices may not be applicable at any third-party sites. Anytime you leave the Point Hope’s website, we have no control regarding what information may be collected about you, nor do we control what third-parties might do with the information. For example, when you click on a merchant’s name at the Point Hope site, you will be connected with the third-party merchant’s website (even if the Point Hope name/logo is on the screen). This merchant website should have its own privacy statement applying to transactions at their website. It is important that you review any privacy policies on third-party sites carefully, BEFORE you use any services or programs offered.
